Set in the heritage-listed Railway Goods Shed; the Discovery Science & Technology Centre offers an exciting, unique and conveniently located setting for your next corporate function, team building day’s, engagement party or birthday.
Team building day’s can include a STEM activity that foster resilience, collaboration and design thinking.
With the new Social Distancing Measures brought around by COVID-19 Discovery has the floor space to ensure you can host a meeting or gathering whilst adhering to social distancing recommendations. Contact us for more information on how to hire the whole centre!
As part of your booking, you can experience the thrill of a Vertical Slide session and enjoy access to 100+ hands-on exhibits.
The Centre
Under special circumstances, we may be able to offer the entire centre for your private function!
Equipped with up to date audio visual equipment, stage lighting, and a flexible layout.
Trestle tables and chairs are available for use and can be set up in your choice of configuration, with a maximum capacity of 150 people.
Your booking includes access to our kitchen and all amenities.
Auditorium
The Discovery Auditorium is a large, recently renovated hall with historic features, equipped with up to date audio visual equipment, stage lighting, and a flexible layout. The room and amenities are wheelchair accessible.
Trestle tables and chairs are available for use and can be set up in your choice of configuration, with a maximum capacity of 150 people.

The Lab
For an authentic science experience, the Discovery Laboratory makes for a fun and interesting function space!
Equipped with audio visual equipment, with plenty of scope for experiments.
Tables and chairs are available for use, with a maximum capacity of 15 – 20 people.

Board Room
Our recently renovated Board Room overlooks the Discovery Centre and is equipped with a computer compatible television, tea and coffee facilities, and a kitchenette. Tables and chairs can be configured in several arrangements, with a maximum capacity of 20 people.

Team Building
You can add a team building exercise to your venue hire at Discovery or hire us to come out to you!
Our team building workshops build STEM skills such as resilience, collaboration critical and creative thinking and problem solving.
Our workshops are fun and engaging for team sizes ranging from 5 to 40 people and run for between 45-90minutes. With Venue hire it is just an additional $150 and $550 for us to come to you.

Pricing
Function price is on application only, with a quote sent out once details are confirmed. Included is a staff member to help throughout the event, however, an after-hours fee is applied before 9am and after 6pm. Entrance to our 100+ hands-on exhibits is included in the function cost. Whilst we cannot provide catering beyond tea and coffee facilities, there are many great catering companies in Bendigo that we are happy to recommend.
Terms and Conditions
- We reserve the right to invoice for additional activities after the visit.
- Cancellations within 48 hours of the function date will be charged 50% of the full amount as per the booking confirmation.
- A failure to show, or a cancellation on the day of the function (<12 hours prior) will result in 100% of the amount being charged as per the booking confirmation.
