There may be additional transport costs for travel times over an hour.

Discovery is happy to discuss incursion opportunities with community organisations that will ensure adequate staffing and safety.

Between 60-90 minutes per Workshop session with a reset/student transfer time of roughly 10 minutes in between sessions.

For the table top Workshops ‘Circuits & Switches’, ‘Turbulent Tunnels’, and ‘How Sound!’ the ideal layout is 7 tables with no chairs.

For ‘Marble Runs’ the ideal layout is a big empty space with no tables or chairs.

‘Circuits & Switches’ or ‘Wind Tunnels’ do not require a projector or TV.
‘Marble Runs’ and ‘How Sound!’ do require a projector or TV.

Teachers booking incursions or excursions will get access to our online teacher portal which have resources that can be used with students after the Workshops to continue the learning.

Can we do more than one Workshop for an incursion?2018-06-26T13:51:11+10:00

Workshops require a lot of equipment, so we can only offer one type per incursion. If you would like to include your whole Primary School in an incursion then a Science Show is a fun way to engage all ages.

Discovery during COVID-192020-05-22T13:06:43+10:00

We are aware that safety is a major concern for groups visiting us. During this difficult time Discovery is trying to support our community how ever we can and will be following government guidelines around reopening.

Step 1- Discovery has gone Virtual! we are offering online workshops, challenges and equipment hire to schools and community groups and free online Curious Kids sessions Wednesday at 1:30pm. We have also ramped up our social media providing you with hours of fun hands on experiments you can do at home.

Step 2- Discovery is keeping things Virtual but will also open our doors for Birthday Parties and meetings for up to 20 people at a time. You can book all of Discovery for 3hours just email [email protected] (we can not do planetarium or slide sessions at this time).

Step 3- Discovery is keeping things Virtual but will also be opening our doors and welcoming back our members and the wider community. With social distancing measures we will be implementing and online ticketing system and having no more than 100 people in the centre at a time. We will also be increasing our cleaning schedule and asking people to stay at home if they are feeling unwell.
