Thanks to the support of the Department of Education and Training, Discovery is offering a series of four free incursions per school to regional Victorian Government schools of under 100 students.
Each school will access a professional learning session for teachers at the start of the program, support from Bendigo Discovery, four physical incursions from Bendigo Discovery staff (or two physical incursions and two optional virtual incursions in the final year of the program), equipment, extension resources and online support for the duration of the program.
The programs are designed to support classroom teachers to engage their students in inquiry-based learning science investigations which will be initiated by Bendigo staff at each incursion and then extended by the classroom teachers in their future lessons. The online support will be available to assist classroom teachers with pedagogies and to provide expert advice on science questions arising from the students’ investigations.
