Regional Schools

A critical skills gap in Australia is digital literacy – which is required by 87% of jobs (Macklin, 2020) Students in regional and rural areas perform at a lower level than students in metropolitan areas (ACER 2018), especially in STEM. Help us change that!
Last year alone Discovery Science and Technology Centre team travelled over 20,000km to deliver free inspiring STEM workshops to Regional and Remote schools

Help us create a brighter future! Every dollar makes a difference.

Curious Kids

The first 1000 days are crucial to a childs development (Dept of social services, 2019)

Research has shown that children usually decide that they are not interested in STEM between the ages of 8-10, and that at around the age of four, children have decided what occupations are ‘appropriate’ for their gender.  The confidence of parents as first teachers have been identified as a major factor in their children’s enjoyment and positivity around STEM. Curious Kids aims to engage children in the fun and adventure of STEAM young.

Your donation can spark a lifelong passion.

Regional Families

According to the OECD “Giving all children access to high-quality early education and care will lay the foundations for future skill development, boost social mobility and support inclusive growth”.

Every year Discovery donates 200 free child entries to the City of Greater Bendigo’s Healthy rewards program so we can help level the playing field when it comes to educational outcomes!

Girls in STEM

Did you know that by age 8, many young girls begin to doubt their intelligence, especially in STEM? We need your help to change that narrative. The Girls in STEM program at the Discovery Science and Technology Centre empowers young girls, boosts their confidence, and connects them with like-minded peers.

Your donation can spark a lifelong passion for science and technology.
