Hannah Arnold
B.Bus (Event Mgmt/Mkting)

Hannah is a Bendigo local with a deep love of her community. Discovery Science & Technology Centre has been a fixture of Hannah’s life – visiting as a child, interning during University, being a Discovery Assistant and now being part of the Board. Hannah has worked in a number of roles in community and youth engagement, event management, and marketing. Hannah is passionate about STEM, education, and reducing disadvantage experienced by regional students of all ages. During 2017 Hannah is a part of the Graduate Development Program at La Trobe University.

Dr Scott Daniel
BSc (Hons I) DipEd BA GradDipSciComm PhD

Dr Scott Daniel is a STEM education and international development specialist. A former high school mathematics and science teacher, he recently completed his PhD, and is now working as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Engineering Education at Swinburne University of Technology. He has worked in nine countries on five continents, and as a consultant and facilitator with Engineers without Borders, UNESCO, Australian Volunteers International, Scope Global, World Vision, and the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. He has also had a regular radio segment as “Dr Scott” on ABC Gippsland, and now on ABC Central Victoria, answering listeners’ questions about science. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Humanitarian Engineering, and on the Board of Directors of Engineers without Borders Australia.

Marcus Turnbull
BAppSci (Computer Science)

Marcus is the founder of local software development company Turncode Productions. He has worked in the software industry locally and aboard for over 20 years. He relocated to Bendigo in 2010. Marcus has a passion for nurturing and supporting young software engineers providing regular work experience placements and he is a mentor at Bendigo Coder Dojo.

Graeme Wiggins
Grad Dip of Ed, Visual Arts, BA Visual Arts

Graeme is a designer and specialist educator with experience in the public and private education sectors. He facilitates active learning projects that enable students to focus on real-life problem solving in areas of interest, and which encourage entrepreneurial activity through the development and application digital design and fabrication skills.

Graeme has a keen interest in the design of 21st Century Learning Spaces, and has redeveloped a number of Design teaching facilities. The most recent of these is the refurbishment of the Canberra Grammar Art, Design and Technology Centre, which was completely redeveloped to create a state of the art open, flexible contemporary learning space equipped with advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Dr Jennifer Selkirk-Bell
Doctor of Philosophy, BSc

Jennifer is a trained geomorpologist, responsible for the academic and administrative coordination of a transnational education program run by the School of Molecular Science, La Trobe University with PSB Academy in Singapore.

Dr Terri Meehan-Andrews
Bachelor Science (Hons), PhD (Medicine), Grad Cert Higher Ed.

Terri is part of the regional Human Bioscience that services all of the courses offered in LaTrobe Rural Health School. She teaches into several first and second year allied health physiology and pathophysiology subjects, and into 3rd year pharmacology in FSTE. Her expertise is within reproduction and pregnancy, but also has extensive knowledge of endocrinology and the immune system. She coordinates several subjects, including DEN2MDA (dentistry pathophysiology), HBS2PAT (instance subject) and part of ORH1OHB (infection and immunity)

Sarah Gee

Jonathan Ridnell
(General Manager) B.Ag.

Jonathan’s agricultural career came to an abrupt halt in 1987 when he joined the national broadcaster. In 28 years with the ABC he has undertaken production, presentation, mentoring and management roles in regional and local radio, including representing the ABC on the Loddon Mallee Regional Emergency Management Planning Committee for 6 years. His community involvement is varied from being part of the Ulumbarra Theatre opening to being a member of the House and Finance Committee of the Bendigo District RSL.

Katie Johnson
B.Bus

Katie is a founding director of ESE Consulting in Bendigo and has many years experience working in recruitment, human resources and training. She holds a degree in Business, majoring in Marketing and Human Resource Management. Katie also has qualifications as a MBTI and DISC Facilitator and OH&S Supervisor.

Dr Annie Duncan
PhD DLitt (Hon)

Dr Annie Duncan is a former Director of Questacon – the National Science & Technology Centre, has a PhD in Biochemistry and spent many years teaching and undertaking medical research at Universities in WA and Italy. Annie has been on the boards of NFPs in WA, ACT and Victoria including the Cancer Council, State Training Board and Family Planning, and is also a former chair of The Australian Communities Foundation. Annie lives most of the time in Daylesford, where she teaches Italian with U3A.

Felicia Binks
B.App.Sci (Metallurgy), Grad. Dip. Env. Mgmt

Felicia has been the Environment and Community Superintendent for the past four years and is the Chair of the Minerals Council of Australia’s Environment and Community working group in Victoria.

David Andrew

David is a Chartered Accountant who has been in public practice for 50 years and has had extensive experience with listed public companies as a Director and Secretary.

Tom Seddon
(Secretary)

Former Director of the Discovery Centre and CEO of The Bendigo Trust from 2005 – 14, Tom was also Director of the 2004 World Health Promotion Conference and the 2001 International Congress on AIDS.
