Homeschool At Discovery
Discovery is a welcoming space for homeschooling families, offering hands-on science and playful, inquiry-based learning. With more than 100 interactive exhibits to explore, plus regular events and planetarium experiences, there’s always something new to discover each time you visit.
Whether you’re joining Homeschool Day, planning a self-guided visit, or looking for experiments and resources to use at home, Discovery provides flexible, accessible ways to support your learning journey. It’s also a great place to connect with other families and share the fun.
What’s Included in Homeschool Day
Our popular Homeschool Day runs once each term, with Discovery opening exclusively for homeschooling families on a Monday when the centre is usually closed. Each event includes a hands-on workshop, a planetarium session, time on the Vertical Slide, and plenty of space for families to connect, explore, and learn together. Every Homeschool Day is a little different, offering fresh activities and new opportunities to discover something exciting.

A Hands-on Workshop
Each event features a different workshop. They’re highly interactive, designed for mixed ages, and a great way for curious learners to dive into a new STEM topic.
A Planetarium Show
Every Homeschool Day includes a special planetarium session, with a different show each term to keep the experience fresh and engaging.
Vertical Slide Session
It wouldn’t be a Discovery event without tackling the iconic Vertical Slide. Each Homeschool Day includes a chance to face your fears and drop from the top.
Meet and Play
Families have time to meet, connect, and explore the centre together, creating a welcoming space for community and shared learning.
