Discovery is where curiosity and celebration collide.
Bendigo’s favourite astronomy event takes place roughly once a month on Friday nights right outside Discovery. Hosted by the Astronomical Society of Victoria’s Bendigo branch, Sidewalk Astronomy invites passers-by to look through shared telescopes, chat with local experts and explore the night sky above. These relaxed, family-friendly evenings make stargazing fun, welcoming and inspiring for all ages.
Our popular Homeschool Day runs once each term, with Discovery opening exclusively for homeschooling families on a Monday when the centre is usually closed. Each event includes a hands-on workshop, a planetarium session, time on the Vertical Slide, and plenty of space for families to connect, explore, and learn together. Every Homeschool Day is a little different, offering fresh activities and new opportunities to discover something exciting.
