Spend a night inside the Discovery Centre for a science-filled adventure your group will never forget. Our iconic sleepovers are a one-of-a-kind experience, perfect for school groups, clubs, and community organisations.
Explore the centre after dark, roam through interactive exhibits, take on the Vertical Slide, and unwind with a movie in the auditorium. We provide sleeping mats, dinner, and breakfast, so you can focus on making memories.
What's Included?
Evening access starting at 5 pm, with activities through until 8:30 am the next morning.
Plenty of time to explore and play with our 100+ hands-on exhibits.
Chance to drop from the top on the Vertical Slide.
Screening of a PG rated movie in the Auditorium.
Sleeping mats provided in the auditorium space; teachers may prefer to bring a swag or blow-up mattress.
Dinner, dessert and breakfast included — pizza for dinner, icy-poles for dessert, cereals/toast & juice for breakfast.
Shower and toilet facilities available overnight.
Dedicated Discovery staff member for the sleepover group.
Optional Planetarium session available as an add-on (additional cost).
What to bring?
Sleeping bag and pillow
Pyjamas and change of clothes
Socks (especially required for the Vertical Slide)
Toothbrush & toothpaste, hairbrush, face washer & hand towel
Drink bottle
Hat and sunscreen (for any outdoor time / transitions)
Teachers may bring a swag or blow-up mattress if they desire extra comfort
What does it cost?
$55 per child
Optional Planetarium add-on: $10 per child
Minimum group size 30, or minimum cost is for 30, if a smaller group is still interested
1:5 free supervisor ratio (1 free adult per 5 kids), $20 per additional supervisor
Saturday night sleepovers must be Planetarium sleepovers and include a $350 Sunday surcharge.
A dinner-only option is available for $30 per child, for anyone who wants to join the evening activities from 5 pm to 8 pm but skip the sleepover.
Important Notes:
Discovery is closed on Public Holidays, so we cannot arrange a sleepover night of, or the day before, a Public Holiday.
We order pizza from Dominos, which cater for gluten and lactose intolerances, but should you have any specific dietary requirements let us know and we will seek a suitable alternative.
