Visitors accompanying someone living with disability, who hold a valid Carer’s Card, receive free entry.
Concession cardholders are eligible for discounted entry.
Please present your relevant card at the front desk for verification.
Mobility
The Centre is fully accessible to prams and wheelchairs via the front entrance, ensuring smooth arrival and departure.
A continuous, ramp-accessible path links all exhibit areas, so visitors using mobility aids can move throughout independently.
If you require assistance or need a slower pace, our front-desk team will be happy to support you.
Sensory
We recognise that the pace, lighting and sounds in a busy science centre can sometimes be overwhelming.
For visitors with sensory sensitivities, we provide free sensory kits, which include noise-reduction earphones and fidget-tools. These are available on loan from the front desk.
Should you require a quieter space or a short break during your visit, our staff can point you to a calmer space.
Facilities
The ground floor features an accessible toilet that includes baby-changing facilities—so families and mobility-aided visitors are supported.
For the convenience of all guests, water stations, seating spaces, and rest areas are situated throughout the centre.
Getting to Discovery
There are designated disabled parking bays at both the Bendigo Marketplace car-park and the Bendigo Train Station car-park. Both bays are linked by an accessibility ramp to the Centre’s entrance.
The Centre is located directly opposite the Bendigo Train Station and the central bus depot, offering easy public-transport access for all visitors.
First Aid
First-aid support is available at our Front Desk. If you or someone in your group requires assistance at any time, please alert a staff member. Our team is first-aid trained and here to help.
Suggestions for Advance Planning
Book in advance: Let us know your accessibility requirements so we can make arrangements tailored to your needs.
Arrive a little early: This allows you time to borrow a sensory kit or speak with staff before starting your visit.
Communicate your needs: If you or someone in your party uses hearing aids, has vision impairment, or requires a specific pace or format, our staff are here to help.
Quiet areas available: If you need to rest or pause the experience, just ask, we can guide you to a peaceful space.
Check exhibit details: Some exhibits may involve sound or bright lights; staff can advise on alternatives if necessary.
